Chair and lead Executive Board and Membership in making decision about the expenditures from our $500,000 + annual budget. Appointment and leadership of standing committee system. Administer programs that serve membership. Supervision of two full time employees. All aspects of facility maintenance contracting. Public affairs. Supervise and edit all publications. Coordinating member training programs. Member of the Bargaining Committee.

Activities: Led and managed 52 member caucus with 50 employees and a two million dollar budget. Direct and supervisory involvement with policy development/coordination, grassroots and large scale organizing and persuasion programs, building and maintaining networks of organizations and individuals, message development, media relations, public speaking, campaign management, issue management, crisis management, selection and supervision of campaign consultants, candidate recruitment and fund raising.

Activities: Member of Democratic Caucus leadership team. Presided over House sessions. Chair, Committee on Urban Policy and Economic Development. Member, Tax Policy Committee, Public Utilities Committee, Oversight and Ethics Committee, Legislative Council. Founder, Hanley Charitable Foundation.
State Representative - Michigan House of Representatives
Activities: Vice Chair, Urban Policy Committee. Member, Human Services Committee. Responsible for two way constituent communications program, voting on budgets and other statutes, constituent casework, working with stakeholders in Saginaw to create a variety of opportunities. Founding member and charter Co-Chair of House Bipartisan Urban Caucus.
Member - Saginaw City Council
Activities: Policy maker. Voting on budget and ordinances. Served as Chair of the Housing Task Force, and as a member of more than a dozen committees, commissions, and non-profit boards which dealt with environmental, planning, human services and housing issues. Mayor Pro Tempore, 1991-1993.
