Saginaw Area Democratic Club Plans Move to New Office, Open House, Fundraisers

In late January, the Executive Board of the Saginaw Area Democratic Club traveled to snowy Kalkaska County for a two-day retreat to make plans for the upcoming year. What emerged from fall and winter planning and a weekend of meetings, fun, and friendship follows.

The Club has a new permanent office at 5820 Gratiot. On March 15 at 9:00 a.m., the move into the Club’s new quarters will occur. Volunteers should meet at Jake’s in Saginaw to help with the move. Once settled in, the Club will sponsor two events:

General membership meetings will be held at the new Club office 0n March 31, June 23, September 8, and November 17 at 6:30 p.m. Activities in which the Club will again engage include continuing its Adopt-A-Park and Adopt-A-Highway efforts, and it will launch a food collection drive on an on-going basis, collected food to be donated to the Old Town Soup Kitchen.

Now in the process of determining its candidate endorsement procedure, the Club has decided to concentrate its efforts to promote Democratic State and local candidates in the upcoming primary and November elections in four precincts: Carrollton 1, Carrollton 2, City of Saginaw 14, and Saginaw Township 11. Election efforts will be coordinated from the new office.
