We are the people of America. Our founding fathers have fought for the freedoms we believe in and our relatives have spilled their blood to build a constitution that reflects our inner spirits will for equality and unity. The Love for our brothers and sisters is the drive that fights to bring us all closer together as a unified country under the flag of Democracy.
That was then, this is now. We all still live in that ideal that our founding fathers believed and bled for, but the real truth of that ideal is a bed of deception and lies to keep us from taking up our calls of dissent, which is the ability to cry out for improvement.
The true strength of our Democratic spirits is the calling to defend equal access, equal opportunity, equal security, the value of whole truth and anything or anyone who opposes these. The application of these equalities leads to the true definition of equal rights and the practice of peace, which builds a continuous tomorrow that is progressively better for our children and grand children.
The call for arms is here and now, to stand up and protect this belief, to sacrifice yourself for a cause, to rise and fight against those who oppose and destabilize our Democracy that is essentially the true application of equal unbiased law.
This belief is why America has been a beacon of light to the rest of the world. We stood up to protect the common man; we defined his importance to a country that was important to him. Because that man knew he was important and mattered to his country, his country mattered to him also. It has been said that the wealth of a country is not measured by dollars and cents, but by the product of the man it puts into the street. That man is the soldier and defender of Democracy. He is well protected, healthy and educated, all the tools and training required to build a strong spirit and to become a leader of himself; an example for others to follow. This man realizes that the tangibles of Democracy do not fall just within the borders of his country but lie within his heart; these ideals become intangible and thus can never be taken away. This is also why America is a country without borders. She is a country that lies within the spirit of our hearts. We soldiers of Democracy defend that spirit, we are the protectors of justice, peace and hope for all men and our spirit can never be defeated.
This is our ideal; the reality is the fact that we do not produce that product of man. The deception of that reality has caused the light of our American flag of Democracy to dim. America is no longer the envy of the world, a nation state, a city upon a hill shining down upon the world as an example to follow. We are not this anymore because our leaders have controlled and filtered the truth for the rest of us to follow. They believe that the full disclosure of truth would cause riots of dissention, which would break their control over we the people. Our elected representatives believe that to withhold this information is in our best interest. The information that would come out would be tasteless which is to hide their practice of tastelessness. This practice of filtered or controlled information is a breach on our constitutional right of free and unconstrained speech. They have used this justification of protected free speech for the interest of national security. This is the deception that allows the governments ability to operate illegally and immorally within the grounds of that protection. “For the interest of national security” is a joke because who are they truly trying to protect from the access of this information? Other countries know more about what our government is doing over those who ultimately own the government: we the people. If we the people knew about our countries practice of immorality and illegality, we the people would dissent and cry out for the improvement of our representative government to follow our will and not theirs. Because the true value and full product of our American sons and daughters capabilities have not been fulfilled, we have ultimately became deceived by unconditionally accepting and following what our leaders tell us as the better for our country; when this practice truthfully becomes better for the government in power and their friends of advantage. Mark Twain said, "Loyalty to the country always, loyalty to the government when it deserves it."
This government does not deserve the loyalty of America's sons and daughters. Through their administration they have dimmed the light of America by destabilizing American unity and global peace. They have destabilized our economy and placed more advantages for those who have so much to gain more, and for those who have little to have less. They have destabilized American securities by under funding peaceful public programs of economic justice. They have created a society that wants but has to work harder to achieve their own goal of the illusionary American dream. In the meantime the advantaged society that doesn't value work because they inherited their money now has a better opportunity to get more. The unstable global economy as a result of war has caused shortages and the increase of gas rates. During this attack upon the less advantaged, public debt has grown to historic levels while the government gives more tax breaks to the already wealthy.
We soldiers of Democracy are responsible leaders of ourselves. We have let this filtered information to diminish our constitution. The truth is that we need the full value of disclosure to completely help and “support our troops.” The protection of information has been made into an Orwellian twisting for “support the war.”
The practice of this is not anything that is new; it has been done before during the Vietnam War. Our fully educated and secure America of that time was well armed with democracy and motivated to truly protect the sons of that time to call for an end of that unjust war and brought our sons home. We used our responsibility of dissent because of the media’s commitment to give us full disclosure and anything less would have been considered unconstitutional.
For example our media now is only allowed to post the total number of fatalities. The media during the Vietnam War posted our American casualties, which is any injury including fatalities occurred during war.
The administration today considers this number to be tasteless and essentially worthless information for the American public; which could ultimately undermine our blind support for the economic interests of their privileged well connected few.
The casualties of our American sons and daughters are closing upon 18,000 during our current conflict. This number is obviously more upsetting that the number of total fatalities 2463. The fact that this administration demeans our injured troops by not disclosing their commitment to their war is immoral, unjust and constitutionally illegal. This administration continuously shows how much they “support our troops,” by under funding their requirements for more armor, by under manning and under planning our efforts over seas. Those soldiers are not their sons and daughters, they are ours. Where is our cry for dissent? Some of us have called out and organized but our media buries or filters this tasteless information by placing it on the back page or putting it on a fast moving streamer across the bottom of your television screen.
Since we are leaders of ourselves it is our responsibility, our capability, those who know the truth to communicate it to those who don’t know the truth. Since our sons and daughters are in a warfront abroad, we need to fight a war here at home to ensure their support from us is fully provided.
Let us stand together and proclaim that the avenue for democracy is better won with an open hand and not a closed fist, to lead by example. Just like the way our country was founded, we believed this and fought against tyranny for ourselves. This struggle, their leadership and their sacrifice, has lost its appreciation over time. Our founding fathers defined within our constitution the necessity for the full value of information to be relayed to the owners of government: we the people. A well-informed and appreciated public is the drive for the engine of democracy.
“Any man that hears ill news while upon his back and does nothing to get up and stop it; is already dead.” That man today is lying in a bed of deception inspired by pride and he is not taught to be a leader of himself only to follow our leaders unconditionally. Too few of us realize our own importance to our country’s balance and have thus created apathy to continually allow the government to conduct itself outside of our trust.
“The truth will set us free.” Anything less than the truth will diminish our own constitution, which is the will to act. The time to act is now! Or forever will America’s light be diminished. What say you?
